Technology Faculty

This is an exciting and dynamic area of the curriculum, and is constantly being updated to keep pace with the rapid change. Schemes of work are regularly reviewed to encompass new technologies. We aim to teach pupils to be adaptable and to use technology appropriately and safely.

In all of the subjects in the Technology Faculty, pupils learn to use technology to solve problems. Pupils learn to gather, select and analyse information; develop communication skill; design systems and products; model ideas and evaluate their work.

Technology enables pupils to achieve in areas that would not have been possible a decade ago. Using software, complex analysis of data is possible. Computer Aided Design and Manufacture enable pupils to produce sophisticated solutions to design briefs.

Through the Technology subjects we aim to prepare pupils to live in a rapidly changing society, to equip them to adapt and rise to the challenges presented by an unpredictable future.
