Netball is a favourite of the school with a large number of girls involved in all five years. We train every week and play matches most weeks so there is a high commitment needed to become part of the team. The rewards are high though with a great team camaraderie and some excellent results in the leagues. The girls will play regular fixture most weeks against local schools, and will also take part in various after school tournaments. This year the U14s and U16s had the chance to compete in the National Schools competition which was great fun.

We are coming to the end of the netball fixtures for all of our Westgate netball teams.
Recent success includes the 2 Year 7 teams that I took to a tournament at Wyvern who both came 3rd in their pool, all received certificates in assembly, well done.
Netball Gifted and Talented
We had guest coach Tallisa Haynes who plays for Hertfordshrie Mavericks run a Gifted and Talented session for 35 selected pupils across the school. She put them through their paces and taught them some new skills for them try. She was very impressed by the natural talent and work rate that the girls showed and will be returning to do another one in the near future.
