School Information

It can be hard for a parent when their child moves into secondary education. For the first time pupils work in a number of different classes and so have contact with about a dozen different teachers each week. In addition teenage pupils are not known for their communication skills!

In an attempt to bridge this divide we seek to communicate with parents in a number of ways. Written reports are given termly as well as an annual parents evening. We hold meetings for each year group where we share with parents what we consider to be the most important aspects for learning for their child. We send home regular newsletters and newspaper (these can be sent electronically if parents wish).

This website gives quite generic information as well as containing forms and copies of letters. If you want to get more detailed information please look at our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). We also welcome you contacting us directly. We have a contact list for you to find the right person to call. If in doubt ring us and we get back to you as soon as is possible.

Department of Education School comparison website

The Department for Education has launched a new web tool helping parents find and compare local schools' performance. It significantly improves parents' ability to choose the right school for their child.

The 'compare schools' tool brings together a wide range of performance data in a single place. We have included a link here to compaer us with local schools.
