What is the PSA?

The Westgate Parent School Association (PSA) has one simple aim, which is "to advance the education of the pupils of the school." We achieve this by:

  • Raising money to directly support projects agreed with the school, which range from the gifts for the Pupil Reward Scheme to trampolines and CCTV.
  • Fostering a strong school community by organising social events throughout the year to give parents the chance to meet.
  • Supporting school events by providing refreshments.

The PSA is run by a committee, which you can join if you are the parent or guardian of a pupil at the school or a member of the school staff. This Committee meets about 6 times a year, to plan major fundraising events (such as the Christmas Bazaar and Auction of Promises) and social events ( Year 7 Family Evening, quiz nights and Staff v Parents Cricket Match and Badminton Tournament). Meetings are in the early evening, lasting about an hour.

How can you get involved?

  • By attending the events the PSA organises and bringing along your family and friends
  • Joining the Westgate 100 club – supporting the school and giving yourself a chance of a cash prize
  • Donating raffle prizes or items for events or preparing food. Requests for donations are published in the regular PSA newsletters and on the website
  • Joining the PSA Committee
  • Helping out at events (with no need to attend the committee meetings).

Please do come and join us. To get in touch with us you can contact the PSA Chair by sending a letter to the School Office, marked “ Westgate PSA”
