Year 8 DigiGirlz Winners!

A big congratulations to our two teams of Year 8 girls who attended the Microsoft DigiGirlz 2019 event on Monday hosted at their Reading offices. During the day the girls were able to learn about the variety of careers and roles available in the technology sector and to ask questions directly to a panel of their employees. They then competed in a sustainability challenge involving creativity, technical prototyping and pitching their idea to a panel of judges, up against 30 other teams. Both teams made a considerable impact on the judges, with one going on to claim the major creativity prize, the other receiving specific commendations from 2 different judges. A really great event, well organised and hosted by Microsoft inspiring our pupils with the possibilities of what roles in technology could look like and how they could really make a difference. Well done!
