What an incredible Careers Week we had at Westgate!
Pupils were treated to a series of engaging guest assemblies, starting with Steve Gilder from Basingstoke College of Technology who highlighted routes into construction and trades, emphasising apprenticeships and encouraging more girls into these industries. Kelly Whittingham captivated Year 10 with insights into a career in technology and the emerging impacts of AI. Year 9 pupils were inspired by BBC South news presenter, Anjana Gadgil, who shared her journey in TV presenting, and Years 7 & 8 learned about radiology from consultant James Shambrook.
We were thrilled to host 36 exhibitors at annual Careers Fair, representing industries such as Creative & Media, Architecture & Property Services, Law, Healthcare and Technology.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Careers Week, whether as a presenter, exhibitor or attendee. The whole week was a really valuable experience for our pupils and we couldn't do it without support from the wider Westgate community.
