A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and knowledgeable IT Strategic Leader to join one of Hampshire’s top schools. In this unique all-through setting, the successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the effective delivery of IT services in the school. This very senior role will include working in partnership with teachers to facilitate strategic IT developments for teaching and learning. The role affords a senior leadership opportunity to shape the future of IT provision in this highly regarded setting and the chance to be part of a very successful community of learning.
Main areas of responsibility will include:
Leading IT service delivery, ensuring the internal team and third-party support providers have a clear understanding of service expectations and a high-quality service is provided to all users.
Working strategically to align user requirements to the school’s IT strategy and existing IT operations.
Responsible for leading a team in a wide range of technical duties associated with the computer network and desktop services.
Taking the lead responsibility for the management of the school’s filtering and monitoring requirements (as per Keeping Children Safe in Education) and working with key colleagues on the school’s wider online safety strategy.
Evaluating and reporting on provision.
Maintaining a broad knowledge of the importance of contingency planning and risk analysis at different levels of the school’s business.
Personal and Knowledge specification:
Hold an Information Technology degree, or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge through relevant experience, and be willing to successfully complete higher level professional qualifications appropriate to the role where applicable.
Experience of working in an educational establishment in an IT support role is preferable but not essential.
A strong understanding of network administration, Firewall and Switch configuration, VLANs and telephony.
Experience of using Microsoft Operating Systems and Office packages including Office 365 or equivalent cloud-based platforms, MIS Systems, databases, and web technologies.
Demonstrate personal and professional integrity, including modelling the School’s ethos and values.
