YEAR 8 (KEY STAGE 3)
Year 8 Leader
My name is Chris Searle and I am the Year Leader for Year 8 this year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your partnership and share with you the brilliant start Year 8 have made.
Pupils have embraced opportunities and I am so proud of their willingness to jump straight into their learning. I truly believe that this special year group can achieve great things over the next 5 years and beyond. As parents, you play an integral part in this journey and, therefore, it was so pleasing to read the following results of the recent Parent Survey:
96% of parents believe the transition really helped their child
96% of parents believe their child is happy at our school
100% of parents believe that behaviour is good at our school.
As a result of the survey, Mr Perez is going to be considering how we can further improve Home Learning; therefore, If you do have any specific concerns or feedback about home learning, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We also believe in pupil voice and, as a result of a recent pupil survey, we found that Year 7 pupils felt they were well supported with their move from primary, that teaching builds on prior learning and that they feel challenged when learning in lessons. We are extremely happy with the results of these surveys which, coupled with what we see on a daily bases, shows just how well this year group have settled into our community.
Good partnership and communications remain key, so please do not hesitate to contact me at to raise any questions or issues regarding overall academic progress in Year 8.
