Aspiration, Challenge, & Excellence (ACE) Programme

The ACE programme is an extra-curricular, scholarly, academic programme available to all pupils. Pupils can be nominated by a colleague or self-nominate with recommendations/support from a colleague. It gives pupils the opportunity to demonstrate academic exceptionality and explore interests outside of the curriculum or go deeper/further for aspects within the curriculum. We work in partnership with Winchester College and Winchester University in offering enrichment workshops and opportunities.
As part of the programme, pupils will complete a detailed self-reflection around their strengths, weaknesses, and academic/career interests (Aspirations). They will then undertake a series of workshops, competitions, and activities which explore academic opportunities and encourage pupils to move outside of their comfort zone (Challenge). Finally, pupils unify their learning from the programme to produce a ‘Work of Excellence’ on a topic of their choosing. The programme is designed to develop confidence, self-reflection, enthusiasm and inspiration towards pupils’ academic studies beyond the specified curriculum.
If your child would like to get involved in the ACE programme, they can ask for further information from their tutor.
