From September 2026, The Westgate School will be opening its own Army Cadet Detachment. This will operate as an after-school club every Wednesday, offering students an exciting opportunity to develop new skills, build confidence, and take part in a nationally recognised youth programme. 

As part of the detachment, cadets will also have the chance to attend regular weekend camps throughout the year. These will be run in partnership with other detachments from our Company (Minden) and with additional Companies across the South of England, giving our pupils the opportunity to form friendships, develop teamwork, and experience a wide range of outdoor and adventurous activities.
