We’re thrilled to announce that our school library is undergoing a much-anticipated refurbishment, an exciting step toward creating a tranquil, inspiring and welcoming space for all our pupils.

This year is the National Year of Reading, and over the next few weeks, the library will be transformed into a modern learning space designed to spark curiosity, support independent study, and foster a lifelong love of reading. This project reflects our ongoing commitment to providing an environment where everyone within our school community can learn together to achieve excellence.

Here are some of the improvements pupils and colleagues can look forward to:

  • The refurbished space will feature updated décor, new furniture and a stunning feature wall at the top of the stairs.

  • We’re introducing new seating zones, including cosy reading corners, quiet study desks, chess tables and flexible group working spaces, to cater to different learning styles and activities.

  • The mezzanine classroom will be blocked off, reducing both noise in the library and distractions in the classroom. The stairs will no longer be a high traffic route to the humanities classrooms, instead they will lead to a comfortable reading area.

  • From new fiction titles and contemporary young adult novels to fresh nonfiction resources, our updated collection will offer something for every interest.

This refurbishment marks an exciting moment for our school community. We’re building a space where imagination can grow, ideas can flourish, and pupils can explore new worlds, both real and literary.

We’ll be sharing regular updates and photos as the project progresses, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone into the new library once it’s complete.

There will be several ways you can be involved as the project evolves, so watch this space. The countdown to our new library begins!
